Loss So Real

Walking among the massive tombs and live oaks dripping with moss, I came across a statue of a woman that stopped me in my tracks. Twilight was coming on and I was alone among all those who had passed on. As I stared at the figure, time and space seemed to compress and a sense of great loss and longing washed over me. It was as powerful as if the statue had opened its mouth and spoken the words.
